Planning a wedding is stressful. Add a fierce Latino family, smooth African American family, a few cheap jokes, and two over competitive dads and you have Our Family Wedding.

Forest Whitaker and America Ferrera star as a college couple who rush into marriage and discover the four magic words. “Our marriage, their wedding.”

The couple’s over competitive, ego maniac dads and the brides self-absorbed mom try to create the perfect traditional wedding. One problem—two traditions and one wedding don’t make for a good mix.

Throughout the planning , the couple, Lucia and Marcus, realize that the true meaning of the marriage is about loving one another. It doesn’t matter what background or culture you are raised. What matters is who you are and how you treat others. It’s unfortunate that the parents of the couple have their heads in the clouds and can’t see what is right. Their children who have found true love are much happier than their own parents.

Our Family Wedding is a thumbs up.
