New Moon

by Sarah, Reporter

The movie New Moon is about a teenage girl named Bella. Throughout the Twilight series Bella is trying to figure out who she is and what she wants to do with her life.

Along the way she meets a boy her age named Edward Cullen. She had always felt this strange way about him. The day Edward fell head over heels for Bella, he told her that he was a vampire.

In the movie Edward moved away from Bella so that his family could not bring any harm to her. Bella was so devastated she didn’t want any attention, until Jacob came into the picture and filled the empty void that Edward had left. The movie works up tons of action, romance and drama.

If you love vampires and werewolves this is the movie for you. Who are you, team Jacob or team Cullen?

Couples Retreat

by Michelle, Reporter

Vince Vaughn is at it again in this charming and funny romantic film. Actors Jason Bateman, Faizon Love, Jon Favreau, Malin Akerma, Kristen Bell, Kristin Davis, Vince Vaughn and Kali Hawk star as eight very different and outrageous couples who travel to a lovely resort to relax and unwind from the rat race.

Expecting to lounge the week away swimming, water skiing, and conversing, they quickly realize they signed up for a week’s worth of couple’s therapy.

Like most of Vaughn’s films, the couples quarrel with one another for silly reasons, but always seem to make up before the credits. While these four couples try to figure out if their marriage is worth saving, they all reconnect and learn the true value of each other and their spouse.

The film touches on a few serious subjects, but mostly there are cute and humorous moments throughout the movie.

This flick had my friends and me giggling from beginning to end. Couples Retreat reminded me of Vaughn’s other films such as Four Christmases and The Break-Up, which are both romantic comedies that were predictable, yet cute enough to make you smirk at the racy comments made.

I’d give Couples Retreat a two out of a possible five stars because it was often slow and if you aren’t married, you might miss the inside jokes.

But, if you need a little laugh, Couples Retreat is the perfect feel-good movie.
